John B. '71 and Sharon Hafner Yingling '71 Scholarship

The John B. 鈥�71 and Sharon Hafner Yingling 鈥�71 Scholarship is closed for the 2024鈥�2025 academic year. The college will be accepting application submissions for the 2025鈥�2026 academic year from September 1, 2025 through October 31, 2025.

The Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics (FCSM) announces the availability of the John B. 鈥�71 and Sharon Hafner Yingling 鈥�71  Scholarship,  established by John B. and Sharon Hafner Yingling in March, 2022.  The Yingling鈥檚 wanted to honor Sharon鈥檚 time as a Biology major and a long time career in science.  The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy or Geosciences.

Eligibility and Criteria

  • be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate students
  • be enrolled in a major program in the Department of Biological Sciences, Department of Chemistry or Department of Physics, Astronomy and Geological Sciences
  • demonstrat a strong allegiance to the advancement of women in science
  • have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher
  • demonstrate financial need as defined by the Towson University Financial Aid Office

Award Amount

  • $1,000 for one-year
