Exercise is Medicine庐*
(EIM) calls upon 麻豆传媒高清 and colleges to promote physical activity as a vital sign of health. EIM encourages faculty, staff and students to work together toward improving the health and well-being of the campus community by:
- Making movement a part of the daily campus culture.
- Assessing physical activity at every student health visit.
- Providing students with the tools necessary to strengthen healthy physical activity habits.
- Connecting university health care providers with university health fitness specialists to provide a referral system for exercise prescription.
All healthy adults aged 18鈥65 years old should participate in moderate intensity aerobic physical activity for a minimum of 30-minutes a day, five days per week, or vigorous intensity aerobic activity for a minimum of 20-minutes a day, three days per week. A few of the benefits of regular physical activity include:
- Heightened Focus. New 鈥渃hallenges,鈥 such as physical activity, social opportunities, and increased learning can stimulate the production of new cells in the brain.
- Elevated Mood /Lower Stress. Being a student isn't easy.
- Increased Energy.
- Sharper Memory.

Equipment Orientation
If you're new to the Recreation Center or want to know which equipment will help you achieve your fitness goals, our Fitness Floor Attendants are ready to assist! Just look for the Fitness Floor Attendant staff in grey and ask for an equipment orientation or send an email to Sydney O'Rourke at sorourke AT_TOWSON to setup an appointment. You can choose from cardio machines, weight machines, or a combination of both cardio and weight machine orientations. Need to know which pieces can accommodate a special need? We can help with that, too. In addition, if you need a spotter, they are happy to step in. Just ask!
