Commencement Tickets
The following information pertains to the 2024 Winter Commencement Exercises. This page will be updated each term as ceremony details are finalized. Every candidate who is approved to graduate and has registered to participate in a ceremony will be granted access to claim Commencement tickets to accommodate their guests.
Please log in with your TU student email to access your , review the pertinent information on the home page, and view the tutorials in preparation for the release of guest tickets. Degree candidates who have registered to participate in their Commencement ceremony by the deadline will have the opportunity to claim up to 9 (nine) guest tickets.
Guest tickets will be available to claim beginning December 4, 2024, at 10 am.
Candidates are permitted to secure additional tickets from another degree candidate, in their same ceremony, who does not plan to use all their tickets. These tickets should be transferred and accepted via the platform to confirm receipt.
Candidates should never sell or pay anyone for commencement tickets. Please report this kind of misuse to commencement AT_TOWSON.
Ticket Requirements
To help ensure that everyone invited can enjoy this special event safely and comfortably and by order of the fire marshal, all guests must have a ticket to attend鈥including infants and children.鈥
Ticket Access
To claim their guest tickets for Commencement, candidates must access their , powered by Ticketmaster. Please log in with your official Towson University email address and the Ticketmaster credentials associated with this email. If you do not yet have a Ticketmaster account associated with your Towson email address, please create one by selecting 鈥淪ign Up.鈥
The University's Auxiliary Services Ticket Office can be reached for assistance with accessing your account or claiming tickets at tuticketoffice AT_TOWSON. Please send an email鈥痜rom your TU email address. In the subject line, include your name, academic college (i.e., CLA, CBE, COE, COFAC, CHP, FCSM), and your ceremony date.鈥
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do infants and children need a ticket to attend Commencement?
Due to Fire Marshal regulations, any guest who enters TU Arena must have a ticket (this includes infants and children). There is no exception to this rule. Forged or duplicated tickets will not be honored.
What if I need more than the number of tickets provided?
Every candidate who is approved to graduate and has registered to participate in a ceremony will have access to tickets to accommodate their guests through the .
Degree candidates and families are encouraged to plan accordingly for the quantity of tickets provided. Candidates are permitted to secure additional tickets from another degree candidate, in their same ceremony, who does not plan to use all their tickets. Tickets for another ceremony will not scan for valid entry at the arena. These tickets should be transferred and claimed via the platform to confirm receipt.
How should I give my tickets to my guests?
All Commencement tickets are mobile. Tickets should be transferred to your guests through your and added to a mobile wallet for ease of scanning at the arena. Each ticket contains a unique barcode that will only scan once upon entry. You may forward the mobile tickets to your guests, being careful not to send the same ticket twice. Please be sure to transfer your guest tickets to a designee who will be able to access them on a mobile device to scan at the entrance. Please note that screenshots of the barcode will not scan.
Although seating is not assigned at Commencement, you may refer to the unique barcode number or the general admission "section" and "seat" indicators on your ticket to distinguish one ticket from another.
Please note: Each ticket and associated barcode can only be scanned once for entry into TU Arena. A ticket that has been distributed to more than one guest will result in an invalid barcode reading at the time of entry.
Are specific seat numbers assigned to each ticket?
No. Commencement seating is open on a first-come, first-served basis. For the best seating selection, guests are encouraged to arrive early.
- For 10 a.m. ceremonies, arena entrances open at 8:30 a.m.
- For 3 p.m. ceremonies, arena entrances open at 1:30 p.m.
Although seating is not assigned at Commencement, you may refer to to the unique barcode number or the general admission 鈥渟ection鈥 and 鈥渟eat鈥 indicators on your ticket to distinguish one ticket from another.
Is there another way for friends and family members to watch Commencement if they are unable to attend in person?
Yes. A live stream of each ceremony will be added to the Commencement page one hour prior to the start of each ceremony to accommodate those family members/friends who are unable to attend. Additionally, all ceremonies will be recorded and available to view and download on the approximately one week after the conclusion of all ceremonies.
Please note: due to space constraints and to limit traffic congestion, there is not an overflow location on campus where the ceremony will be live-streamed.
Can I sell my tickets to another candidate?
The sale of unused Commencement tickets and any fraudulent activity related to tickets is strictly prohibited. Commencement tickets are offered free of charge to each candidate, based on occupancy rates. Candidates who do not plan to use all their claimed tickets are permitted to offer any additional tickets free of charge to another degree candidate in their same ceremony.
Tickets for another ceremony will not scan for valid entry at the arena. Anyone found to be selling or purchasing unused Commencement tickets could face academic discipline including the loss of the privilege to participate in their Commencement ceremony. The tickets are university property, therefore each ticket is a "revocable license" which the university can withdrawal at any time at its sole discretion.
